antique 1914 brass Guys Dropper carbide caver or miner's head lamp for restoration or parts
more photos of this product belowEarly 1900s vintage, solid brass carbide miners helmet mounting head lamp for restoration or parts. The top of this antique miner's cap lamp is stamped with "Guys Dropper" and is marked with a US patent date of May 26th 1914. Moderns styles of carbide cap lights began appearing around 1900, but didn't become popular with miners and cavers until the 1920s, so this would be a fairly early design of carbide lamp. This brass lamp measures about 3 1/2" high, 2" across the body and 2 1/4" across the brass reflector.
The brass reflector is loose from the burner tip assembly and needs to be resoldered. We are selling this for repairs or parts.
