original 1872 first American edition Charles Eastlake Hints on Household Taste antique book

Sure, you could just get a digital download, but to me there's something amazing about holding a Charles Eastlake book from his own time. This is an 1872 first American edition which he would have approved, and seen with his own eyes.

It's very worn (loose, worn cover, pages separated). Looks complete, I think. There's a penciled price where this was sold (pre-internet) for $250. It's part of a well known Boston historical design consultant's estate, he spent a lot of money and time on his library collection.

And while it's probably never going to see a price like that again (those digital downloads!), it's a treasure.
