beautiful old carved wood oval frame w/ antique 1880s very solemn family photo, instant ancestors

Late 19th century vintage carved and gesso decorated oval frame, very lovely. This probably originally held a convex bubble glass, but now holds only a bubble shaped antique photo, circa 1885.

The photo is worn, but these folks are very elegant and even a little creepy slightly worn and decaying. Instant ancestors in a beautiful period frame!
