antique real photo print on early 1900s vintage cotton fabric, mother / daughter

Very unusual old textile piece, a real photo print on very old cotton sateen fabric from about the same period, early 1900s mother and daughter. The photo area measures 10 1/2" x 12 1/2", with the fabric overall measuring 17 1/2" square.

This looks to have been handstitched onto a pillow top or quilt, and later removed for safekeeping as the fabric began to show wear (a few small holes and some browning, though no fading or brittleness).
