old antique cast metal vase w/ pastoral dutch scenes, windmills & people

Heavy cast metal (spelter?) vase with elaborate design in a country dutch theme, not marked at all that we can find. We don't think that the gold finish is original, probably 1950s, though the vase looks to be older than that... 1910s or 20s?

The vase measures about 10" tall and is in very good shape, no chipping or cracks, only slight wear to the gold paint.
