old spongeware bowl, salt glazed stoneware crock w/ wire bail and wood handle

Antique crockery bowl with spongeware pattern in blue on the unglazed pottery exterior (interior has salt glazed finish). This has the vintage wire bail handle, which is nice!

The bowl measures 10" in diameter across the rim, about 5 1/2" deep. The bottom is marked Pure Food Sanitary Cooking Ware. We have no idea who made this good old kitchen stoneware, it seems it's not easy to find information about these bowls, or the bowls themselves... especially in the sponge pattern.

This one is in very good condition, no chips, cracks or damage at the ears which hold the handle. It does have some spots and surface soil to the unglazed finish.
