primitive antique Mississippi river fishing cotton rope spindle

Primitive wood spindle wrapped with a large quantity of old cotton 1/4" rope. A nice piece for your rustic cabin or lodge.

This is from the estate of an old man who fished on the Mississippi river with a trolley fishing rig and used this rope as his anchor line. It is just as we found it. We haven't unwound this to measure, but there is quite a bit of the rope here and the stake measures about 32" long.
