vintage Gien-France pottery plate w/ antique hand-painted map of Italy

Here's an interesting decorative piece, a plate with an Italian map, made in French pottery! It's made for hanging, and measures 10" in diameter. The marking is Gien - France.

It's in very nice condition without chips or discoloration - we aren't certain of the age, though the map of Italy is done in an antique style.
