old antique chalkboard natural slate w/oak frame schoolhouse vintage

Large old chalk board... natural black slate stone with an oak wood frame. This chalkboard measures about 37 1/2" long and 17 5/8" high. Both dimensions are over the wood frame.

The front side of the slate is ground flat and smooth for writing and drawing with chalk. We love the way that the back side still has some of the natural roughness from the natural slabs that the slate comes in out of the quarry... Mother Nature's own blackboard!

There are eye screws in the ends of the frame for hanging the chalk board.

This does have some wear and age.
