Old, early to mid-century vintage, Tycos desk barometer with a brass and mahogany frame and case. This old barometer is marked ""Tycos - Certified - J-25" on the instrument face. It is also marked "Taylor - Rochester, NY, USA".

This desk size barometer is marked to measure the changing barometric pressure from 20 up to 300 mm (millimeters of mercury as a unit of measurement for barometric pressure). This is an aneroid barometer (without mercury) rather then a mercury barometer that uses a column of mercury to measure the atmospheric pressure.

This vintage barometer measures about 4" across the face of the instrument and 6 1/4" high and 7 1/2" across the wood and brass case and frame. There is a metal access cover on the back with a textured charcoal gray industrial finish that removes to allow access to the instrument for calibration. This barometer doesn't seem to be working and may need calibration or repair.
