antique Shaker blanket, handwoven homespun wool blue & white check w/ red monogram embroidery

Mid to late 1800s vintage hand woven homespun wool blanket - we believe this is probably Shaker made, it's very much typical of their style and hand work.

We were lucky enough to find several of these lovely old blankets from the same Mississippi river valley estate, each one different.

This blanket is 72" wide, made of two 36" widths seamed down the center. It's about 84" long. The monogram is stitched in red cotton, cross-stitch embroidered.

This one has a few spots or stains which we have not attempted to remove. It's been carefully mended and darned in a few places. There's a little faint discoloration or possibly a little uneven color in the wool spun and woven into this blanket.
