antique linen turkish towels circa 1890s, turkey red woven damask borders w/ fringe
more photos of this product below1890s vintage pure linen towels... these were made as the bath towels of their day, before terrycloth type fabrics became the norm. So many of these large linen towels were used to death as rags, it's not often we find them unused as these are.
There's two towels 44" x 24", one 38" x 24", not including the fringed ends. These have such a soft luxurious feel, there's just nothing like linen. Though they'd make fabulous farmhouse table runners, too. Especially for the holidays!
These have never been used or laundered, though they have a little browning and spotting from about 130 years of storage in a trunk. They'll lose crispness and gain softness with laundering and will look lovely pressed or in their natural washed linen look.
