pair of ornate antique brass gaslight candelabra candlestick banquet lamps, circa 1890s
more photos of this product belowPair of large ornate, Victorian vintage, brass candelabra banquet lamps. These are solid brass and were originally twin light gas lamps and later were converted into a pair of candlesticks after gas lights were phased out in favor of electric lights. There are stamped on the undersides of the cast brass bases with "86 901". We're dating these antique lamps date to the late 1800s or early 1900s. They stand almost 15" high (14 3/4") and 11" across the arms.
The inside of the center column at the bottom is threaded for connecting the gas line and the gas was carried to the lamps through the hollow scrollwork arms. The top of each column is also threaded on the inside to either fit on a lamp finial or perhaps additional gas lighting fittings. These have a very nice patina of age and would be lovely as candlesticks or restored into gas lamps.
