antique white Wedgwood ironstone china soap dish and cup or toothbrush vase
more photos of this product belowTwo Victorian vintage ironstone pieces from a wash stand or bathroom set, both much used and showing a lot of wear. We love the beautiful old shapes here, they really don't make everything things this nicely very often these days!
The soap dish holds a removable insert, and would hold a soap about 1 1/2" wide x 3" long. We has to stand our soap on edge to fit, but actually that's probably the way you're supposed to if you want a cake of soap to last, as it dries faster and firmer over most of it.
Old chips all over on this piece, but it has a lovely old Wedgwood mark.
The cup or toothbrush holder has quite a bit of finish wear, and a tight hairline at the bottom. No makers marks, though its from the same century farm estate as the soap dish. The place was settled in the 1850s, so it's possible these are both very old ironstone pieces.
