unmarked Asian porcelain bowl, hand painted flowers in red, green, grey Chinese or vintage Japan

This bowl is a mystery to me. I picked it up because I loved the colors, and I thought if I spent a while looking at hand painted porcelains of Japan and China I could probably find a lead. That was hours ago, and though I've learned some things about old porcelain I am no nearer to telling you the age or origin of it than when I started.
I think I can probably feel fairly certain that this is not a mass produced piece, or a new piece. It's too hard to find. It's size at 8 3/4" in diameter seems to be on the larger side for porcelain bowls. I would guess that makes it newer, not older.
I'm no expert in Asian antiques, so I can't tell you for sure that this is just a 20th century piece as I'd expect. I just don't know, I suppose it could be old though I don't believe it's ancient.
It's hand painted, with no sign of a mark or a signature that I could see. Paint looks good, porcelain too. No chips or cracks. I still love the colors and the hand painted flowers - it's a very decorative piece. If you know anything about this sort of design, please let me know. I'd love to know more about it!
