Beautiful old flax linen fabric for towels, table runners, curtains, or upholstery and slipcovers - this is a bolt of a little over 40 YARDS of 18" wide fabric, in one continuous piece. (Yes, indeed, we've unwound the entire thing to measure it!)
The striped borders are barn red, blue and white - contrasting nicely against the natural flax color of the linen.
It's clean and crisp, really lovely old fabric with a homespun texture. The selvage is slightly rough, as you can see - and there's a somewhat uneven texture from the natural linen fibers.
We saw only a few spots of surface soil left from maufacture over the entire length. This has been stored away for about 80 years, and is in exceptionally nice condition. A wonderful find, we've never before found such a quantity of antique toweling fabric.
