1940s industrial vintage adjustable light with a curved neck and spun aluminum skyscraper shade in excellent, very clean condition. It measures about 15" tall and the shade is 7" across. This is a General Electric infrared lamp, catalog 4197504.
We don't think this lamp has ever been used. It still has the original box, "penetrating heat ray" hang tag and large infra-red light bulb. But it has a regular light bulb socket so you can use it with any light bulb that you'd like.
This has an unusually heavy duty cord for an ordinary lamp probably to handle the extra wattage of the heat bulb. It looks original to the piece, but the plug on the cord is brown, not black and so it's possible that it's been replaced.
The box has some wear and soil from years in storage.
