antique vintage chunky white ironstone soap dish, heavy old porcelain china

Antique ironstone china soap dish, with nice old stamped marking on the reverse. Greenwood China Trenton New Jersey.

This is plain and simple, undecorated white china, chunky shape, very worn and browned - just a beautiful patina of age and years of use.

It's about 5" long over the rim, shown holding a soap 2 1/4" square, which as you can see is a little large. I guess soap like just about everything else has been increasing in size over the years!
