antique vintage fabric, hickory stripe cotton shirting, railroad striped work shirt material
more photos of this product belowEarly 1900s vintage 26" wide (very narrow, that's 26", not 36") cotton shirting fabric with indigo blue and white hickory stripe, made for everyday work shirts. This is an 8 1/2 yard length, unused, never laundered, nice and crisp.
This fabric is out of a whole cellar full of beautiful old textiles we purchased recently... including some very unusual and hard to find fabrics. This was stored away since around WWII, untouched since the 1940s.
Most of this material does have age related foxing (it was carefully stored, wrapped in paper or tissue, which no one expected at that time to lead to foxing later!). There's discoloration to edges and outer folds and fold lines on this fabric.
It's never been laundered, and we haven't washed or soaked it. It might clean up with a good wash, but we'll leave that up to you!
