old antique hand forged copper hook for hanger rack or scale, vintage hardware

Unusual hand forged copper hook with a 'spring' built in - we have no idea what this was originally made for (a scale? a butcher's hook?), but it's a nice one! Measures 4 1/2" long to to bottom, and has a lovely old patina of age.
