Rarely seen piece of early American pressed glass, an 1880s Duncan and Sons glass comport with lid... this looks like a file and block pattern with an open globe shape knob on the lid, same open globe on the stem of the bowl.

It's been called Iowa, or Nova Scotia, or Cryptic Zipper. It's a large and impressive piece, 13" tall x about 8" overall diameter. Both the bowl and the lid are in very good condition, color clear, no chips or cracks.
