vintage hand-blown glass orb, witches ball or fishing new float? bright yellow

Clear bright yellow blown glass witches ball, open at the end, to be fixed on a rod as a suncatcher? Or else to be hung in a net like an old fishing float? We have no idea, as this came to us just as it is. It's really pretty, we love the vivid canary yellow color! Measures about 4 1/2" in diameter.
