antique gravity cream separator, vintage dairy farm milk can
more photos of this product belowNice old gravity style cream separator, from an old dairy farm here in Wisconsin. This is a tinned steel can (two gallon size) with lid which inverts to become a milk strainer to pour the new milk inside. The can with cover then hangs up in the dairy or milkhouse till the next milking, when the skim milk is pulled off from below the risen cream, using the tap at the bottom. Simple, but works!
The tinning on this looks good, not perfect, but quite usable condition. It measures about 9" in diameter x 16" tall.
This separator isn't marked with a maker that we could find, though this type of dairy equipment was made by many different small companies.
