old farm dairy primitive tools, milk and cream can churn stirrers stirring rods
more photos of this product belowHere are two old stirring rods with long handles, dashers made to agitate milk or cream in milk cans. These were used on dairy farms and in old creameries many years ago to help cool the milk (from back in the days where the milk was hauled in cans, and cooled by standing the cans in cold water). It really gives you a sense of appreciation for sweet cream butter, when you know the kind of work required for keeping the milk and cream fresh!
These are heavy steel, with worn tin plating, and measure about 27" tall. These work well if you want to stir up the milk in a 10 gallon size milk can.
