vintage brass canister, old tea caddy or tobacco jar humidor

Vintage brass canister jar, about 4" diameter x 6 1/2" tall overall. It's somewhat discolored, we're guessing it once held tea or pipe tobacco... though it's been empty for many years and doesn't seem to have a scent of tea or tobacco remaining.
