Vintage solid brass table or banquet lamp. This lamp stands about 29 3/4" high to the top of the socket and about 8 1/2" in diameter (across) at the base.
This is a very heavy brass lamp. It weights about 16 pounds and the body appears to have been cast from brass and then turned on a lath (or else machined out of solid bar brass). It is made in two pieces however and so there is still a steel tube through the center of the lamp to hold it together and for the wiring to pass through.
This is electric and it has a mogul size light socket. This is the larger size of light socket often found in torchiere lamps, floor lamps and yard lights. Screw in adapters are readily available at your local hardware store or home improvement center for a few dollars.
This lamp does has a short brass plated spacer just below the socket. There are a few spots of tarnish.
