Tea time scene grouping of late 1800s vintage German china figures, a lady and youth with a lute. These are marked IG DEP Germany. Figurines are not one of our specialties, and I've been having some difficulty tracking down the date and origins of this mark.

Lots of photos of stamps and marks of this sort here -

- it's probably a very interesting read if you collect German porcelain and can follow the history of the Graefenthal company or family of companies in the Thuringia a little better than I could!

Best as I can tell from the marking, this a group or garniture set made during the 1880s. If I had to guess without any mark, I would have put the date a little later than that, probably shortly pre WWI. But again, I don't see a lot of figurines, mostly porcelain table ware.

The people are about 5" and 5 1/2" tall, and both in very good condition. There's a repair and a possible damage to the teapot on the tea table, though even this is not really noticeable.

The paint and color look good on all three pieces, and these are pretty clean and dust free overall.
