Mid to late 1800s vintage hand woven homespun wool blanket - we believe this is probably Shaker made, it's very much typical of their style and hand work.
We were lucky enough to find several of these lovely old blankets from the same Mississippi river valley estate, each one different.
This blanket is 64" wide, made of two 32" widths seamed down the center. It's about 70" long. The monogram is stitched in red cotton, cross-stitch embroidered.
This is in remarkably good condition with a piece of this age and type. There's very little discoloration, just a few small spots over the entire piece. There's no rips or holes, very little visible moth damage.
