1800s vintage wide lace flounce... we believe this is silk, probably French, but aside from that, we can't tell you much about it! We don't find a lot of fine lace fabrics here in the rural midwest, and lace types are not my specialty.
It's 5" deep, with the original scalloped hems a little worn. It's a 2 yard length, 72" inches. The color is very even and deep, almost a golden brown shade.
It's very fine and light, but does not seem to be at all brittle or shredding, though there's a couple of small holes, or tears (largest about 1" long, please see photos).
