vintage linen damask fabric, antique bath or kitchen towels w/ turkey red woven borders

Pair of linen damask towels circa 1900, with beautiful red border design. These are 18" x 32" long, probably bath towels that were eventually relegated to the kitchen, judging from the number of spots!

They could use soaking, but I'm uneasy soaking linens with the old turkey red, so I'll leave that up to you. Aside from the spots, they have a few small snags and frayed holes.
