old embossed brass table lamp, small solid brass reading light 40s or 50s vintage

Lovely vintage brass table lamp, all brass, not brass plated. This stands about 14" tall to the top of the light bulb socket, and 23 1/2" tall to the top of the brass finial.

It's been given a new cord at some point (early 60s?) and is working fine. The brass metal is highly polished, without darkening or tarnish.
