vintage Blue Ridge Southern potteries hand painted plates, blueberries or huckleberry pattern
more photos of this product belowSet of eight mid-century vintage Blue Ridge pottery plates, ceramic is hand painted under glaze. I love this pattern, gooseberries or huckleberries or wild blueberries! These are salad plates, about 8 1/2" in diameter.
There's four plates of each of what appear to be different artists. Though Blue Ridge is almost never signed, it's clear from the colors here that these plates are from two different paint palettes. The greens are somewhat different, though these all work well together.
All of these pieces have been used, with chips on many of them, and wear / some discoloration to all. These are almost antique now, and the condition is what you'd expect from everyday dishes of the 1940s or early 50s.
I very seldom find Blue Ridge any more. So much of it was under appreciated, and often tossed away as 'old junk'. It's actually true Americana, folk art with a distinctive hand crafted element.
