Green and tan flowered Blue Ridge pottery dishes, 1940s or 50s vintage, all hand-painted. This pattern looks more like clematis than a green briar to us, but we love the green piecrust edge trim, and the apple green flowers!
It's a complete set for eight, although some of these pieces do have condition problems, please see below. We thought we'd leave it all together as we found it as we know a lot of people like to use the Blue Ridge as their real, everyday china.
This set is eight each of dinner plates (about 9 1/2" in diameter), lug handled chowder bowls (about 7" across the handles), fruit bowls (about 5 1/2" in diameter) and salad or bread plates (about 6 1/4" in diameter). There's eight each of cups and saucers, and a few serving pieces as shown.
Now for the condition problems - this is a used set, and everything has a few light utensil marks. Many pieces have crazing.
Two of the dinner plates have very small chips, and one cup and two of the chowders have noticeable chips. We saw a few discolored spots, or rings on the underside of the cups.
