vintage Japan novelty ceramic butter dish, loaf of bread for 'bread & butter'

Cute vintage hand painted ceramic butter dish made in Japan - this is made as a loaf of bread, so you'll have 'bread and butter'!

It's not quite the same size as a regular stick of butter - it's shorter and wider, about 4" long over the tray area, about 5 1/2" long overall.

It's in very good clean condition, some fine crazing but no chips or cracks. It's nice and clean, I don't believe this was ever used.
