vintage Nash Ambassador Airflyte mattress backseat bed-in-a-car 50s hotrod

1950s vintage 100% kapok filled Nash Motors mattress roll introduced for their Ambassador Airflyte line for drivers who want to sleep in the car! It's still with the original Nash branded zipper up vinyl case. What an unusual add-on accessory for your collectors car or hotrod. Go ahead, pimp your ride!

This mattress measures about 63" long and 27" wide. It's thickness tappers from about 4 1/2" at one end, down to about 1 1/2" to 1" at the other end. It's difficult to measure the thickness as this is soft to roll up and is stuffed with kapok (like the old orange life jackets), not at all like foam rubber.

It's in nice condition for a piece of this age. There's some spotting, stains discoloration to the ticking mattress cover, but no holes or repairs that we saw.

The case zipper work well, but the vinyl is discolored and stained from years in storage and there are a few small holes / cracks to the vinyl at corners and edges.
