vintage tooled brass coffee pot or tea pot, Turkish teapot?

We've been told that this lovely old tooled brass pot is from Turkey, so we think it must be a teapot, as it's not what you'd expect from a Turkish coffee pot. It's about 6 1/4" tall overall, and is beautifully rustic and tarnished by time.
