antique vintage clothes iron, #5 cast iron flat sadiron w/ handle

Antique cast iron smoothing iron, made to be heated on a stove and used for ironing and pressing laundry and sewing. Iron surface measures about 5 1/2" and 3 1/2" wide at the widest.

No maker marked on this one, just a 5. The handle is all cast iron as well, attached to the iron. It's not perfectly smooth, but that appears to be the way it came out of the factory, about 100 years ago.
