lot 10 old feed sack bags, vintage homespun cotton fabric grain sacks, faded red
more photos of this product belowLot of old cotton sacks, from a farm estate here in Wisconsin. These are all vintage bags, 1930s, 40s, or 50s, from grain for feed or seed, or flour bags, or sugar sacks, or chicken feed mash. This lot is 10 sacks with a medium 'homespun' weight. These are all still sewn up as bags, most measuring about 38" x 21" wide (42" wide fabric).
These are all a pale faded barn red color, where the original printing inks stained through the entire piece when washing. The color is nice and even over each sack, though the sacks vary a little from one another. We can't see much if any of the original lettering or graphics. I think the color would be fairly color fast (the fabric doesn't bleed when wet) but you probably couldn't bleach them if you'd like to keep the color.
The weights vary a little bit, as we sorted this lot by color! Some have a few spots or holes. None are perfect, new fabric, and that's just part of the original charm. These are genuine farm country primitive pieces, becoming increasingly hard to find.
