antique brass wall sconce early electric socket w/1890s patent&glass shade
more photos of this product belowAntique early electric, Harvey Hubbell vintage, ornate brass wall sconce with a floral pattern glass shade. This is a nice sconce with an early and unusual socket. The brass socket shell is held together with a pair of small screws in dog-legged slots, rather then usual snap together design. The brass socket shell is also marked with a US patent date of Dec 9th, 189~ (we can't make out the last digit of the year).
The sconce is about 6" high over the brass sconce and about 8" from the wall. The old ruffled glass shade has a textured floral pattern.
There is a patina of age and tarnish to the brass and a few little chips to the shade fitter. You'll want to rewire this vintage lighting fixture.
