Rare antique ironstone china fruit or sauce dish made for Marshall Field's and the Columbian Exposition in Chicago (1893). The three ships of Columbus are depicted on the border, and the reverse is marked Scammell's Lamberton China made expressly for Marshall Field and Company.

Lamberton is the classic heavy white ironstone from the Trenton New Jersey area. Bowl has scratching and wear, but it was made to last and has no chips or cracks at almost 150 years old. Measures 5 1/2" in diameter.
