1930s 40s vintage wood tray frame w/ embroidered linen, french knots & bouillon stitch roses

1930s or 1940s vintage tray with very beautiful embroidery - a bouquet of roses in bouillon stitch or french knots?

This is worked on flax colored pure linen, framed inside the tray without a glass. The frame is mahogany, I think. It has a lovely smooth polish and small metal handles. 

This measures about 19" x 13 1/2" over the fabric, about 21" x 14 3/4" over the frame, 24" across the handles. There's some foxing and spotting to the linen, and just a little scuffing to the frame.
