1940s or 50s vintage red & white cotton Humpty Dumpty stuffed doll, handmade toy nursery rhyme character

Mid century vintage Humpty Dumpty soft toy, very striking in red and white checked cotton fabric with printed face. This looks as though it was made from a pre-printed fabric panel, there's no tags or makers marks. He's spotted and foxed from age, but looks clean and unfaded. So sweet.
