1940s vintage glass refrigerator dish, triangular fridge box Scurlock Kontanerette patent

Wedge shaped glass fridge dish marked Scurlock Kontanerette - Chicago - Patent No 88111. I was told this was made to fit a turntable inside a refrigerator?

I think it would make a great cheese box just as is! Measures about 3" tall (2 3/4" deep). Box looks nice, lid has a few chips - see photos.
