30s 40s vintage quilting fabric scrap bundles, cotton print scraps fabrics for quilters

Large lot of vintage cotton print fabric 'scrap bundles' 1930s or 40s vintage. These are scraps left from garment factories, all carefully collected and bundled up in lumps.

These scrap bundles used to be a common source of quilting fabrics and were sold by catalogs like Montgomery Wards and Sears by the box to quilters who liked a good assortment of variety in their patchwork, and to many rural and small town homes that lacked 'nice prints' in the stores.

We haven't touched these, but know from previous experience that these have pieces in all shapes, mostly smaller scraps as depression era and war time fashions were cut very thriftily!

It's a time capsule of a group of period fabrics, a treasure for quilters, or a great primitive display just as they are. The whole lot weighs 4 1/2 pounds.
