Florida armadillo basket, bowl made from shell vintage taxidermy

Armadillo shell 'basket' (no tail remaining, this is more like a bowl). This is out of an estate, where it was brought home from a Florida vacation many years ago - I have no idea as to how or where armadillo baskets were made. Seems nice and solid, apart from the missing tail. Measures 12" x 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall.
