French flair coquette vintage toto basket box bag purse, Vive la France painted red & white

Worn split wood basket 'box bag' made as a purse or lunchbox, mid century vintage, I think. This has a cotton fabric lining and painted design - 50 Million Frenchmen Can't Be Wrong - Vive la France - He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.

This has a cheeky attitude and a wholesome schoolgirl style at the same time! Sophisticated and innocent, ooh la la. Who doesn't need a toto basket with Cole Porter lyrics painted in gorgeous bold graphics on the top? A great photo prop, or use this to store souvenirs and treasures.

It's about 9" tall to the top of the handle, about 9 1/2" x 6" over the basket. It's worn but sturdy despite the small break shown in the photos. The print calico lining in coming loose from the basket at the rim, but it's clean overall.
