Harrison Toile print cotton fabric, 40s vintage presidential cenntennial fabric
more photos of this product belowVintage print cotton toile fabric in honor of president William Henry Harrison, made for Berkeley Plantation (Harrison's birthplace). This we think is probably 1940's vintage, made to comemorate Harrison's death while in office in 1841.
This has been made up in to a banner hanging, with heavy cotton fringe border and wood rod at the top. This piece measures 34" wide x 36".
There are some brown foxing spots as seems about right for a 1940's piece of this type, but overall this looks good, and is a beautiful, unusual print. This came to us from the estate of a collector of antique textiles with a presidential theme, but we know very little of its history beyond that.
