Matched pair of antique teapot and coffee pot of yellow ware pottery with Rebecca at the Well pattern, Bennington brown glazed, circa 1840s. The coffeepot has an applied pewter spout. We don't know if this was a very early professional repair, or vintage to the piece? It looks original to us, but we're unsure of the purpose of the metal spout?

These are nice big pots, 8 1/2" and 9 1/2" tall. Both are in very shabby, poor condition - with cracks and old repairs, and numerous large chips.

We love them anyway, these probably came out to the early settled lead mining area here in Wisconsin or Iowa with a bride or young family, and have seen a long history, lovingly preserved for more than 150 years!
