Victorian antique porcelain lobster handle double bowl serving dish, 1800s vintage
more photos of this product belowLarge Victorian china bowl with lobster handle at the center - lobster is roughly life size. This is big and heavy, measures about 11" x 14" over the piece as a whole. It's made to hold shells and remains of lobsters or other seafood etc at the table.
There's a number of large chips (one with short crack) to the rim and the foot, none very noticeable unless you pick this up and turn it over. There's no makers marks, though I'd expect it's made it's Germany, Prussia or Bavaria. Such a pretty piece with such a practical purpose - very Victorian!
