antique Chinese pottery ginger jar, small six sided pot w/ green glaze

We've been told this pot is Chinese, mid to late 1800s vintage, a ginger jar which would have originally had a ceramic lid of some sort. It's a heavy rough stoneware clay, glazed over the lower part but not at the rim.

This has a flower paneled design and six sided shape, about 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" overall. It's not marked or signed that we could find. It's a beautiful rustic piece - love the clay, love the green glaze. It's nicely sized for a vase, or to hold pens and brushes.
